Kim McClure has been named Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Lomé, Togo. McClure brings two decades of diplomatic experience to the post, having served in countries including India, Afghanistan, and South Africa. She also worked as a U.S. negotiator on the United Nations Security Council at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

Her previous assignments in Washington include roles such as Economic Chief in the Office of Cuban Affairs, Special Assistant to the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Watch Officer in the State Department Operations Center, Career Development Officer in Global Talent Management, and Deputy Director of the 100,000 Strong Initiative.

McClure is originally from Memphis, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Stanford University and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She speaks French, Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
