According to the consulate, "While similar previous events have proceeded peacefully, demonstrations can change quickly and unpredictably. Demonstrations may result in road closures and traffic disruptions."
The consulate recommends several precautions for those in the area: "Avoid crowds and demonstrations. Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests. Monitor local media for updates. Be aware of your surroundings. Keep a low profile. Plan alternate routes. Plan significant extra time to arrive at your destination."
