Todd M. Harper, NCUA Chairman | National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) announced it will hold a Strategic Plan Town Hall on Tuesday, September 9 at 2 p.m. Eastern. The agency is seeking input from credit union industry stakeholders as it develops its next strategic plan and determines future priorities.

Registration for the online event is currently open. The NCUA encourages participants to submit topics related to the strategic plan when they register. Additional comments can also be sent through AskNCUA.

“This town hall is an opportunity to bring the entities we insure and regulate into our strategic planning process,” said Chairman Kyle Hauptman. “We understand that input from diverse sets of stakeholders is essential to supporting our work to ensure the safety and soundness of credit unions and to this new chapter for the NCUA. Credit unions and industry should tell us what they would change about NCUA’s last strategic plan, provide ideas on how the NCUA can strengthen credit unions and lessen burdensome rules, and give us feedback on the issues they foresee for the credit union system in coming years.”

The town hall will be held virtually with a moderated discussion format, open to credit unions, Credit Union Service Organizations, Leagues, and other trade groups in the industry. Advance registration is required.

Technical questions regarding access to the virtual event may be directed via email to uccwebinar@ncua.gov or uccsupport@ncua.gov.

The NCUA was established by Congress as an independent federal agency responsible for regulating, chartering, and supervising federal credit unions. It manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund which insures deposits of more than 135 million account holders at all federal credit unions as well as most state-chartered ones. The agency also focuses on consumer protection and public education regarding financial literacy.
