The U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas has announced a commercial opportunity for suppliers to provide a full-size, four-door, conventional gas SUV with specific features and requirements. The embassy is seeking vehicles that have all-wheel or four-wheel drive, air conditioning, at least a four-cylinder engine, seating for five people, Bluetooth connectivity, backup camera, parking sensors, push button start, rearview camera, and other safety and convenience features.

According to the specifications released by the embassy, the vehicle must be equipped with electronic stability control if it is standard or optional equipment for that model. Other required features include driver and front passenger airbags; integral lap and shoulder belts at every forward-facing outboard seating position; variable intermittent windshield wipers; power windows, locks, doors, mirrors with keyless entry; ABS brake assist and traction control; as well as three scheduled maintenance visits included. The preferred color options are darker shades such as gray, black or blue.

Interested companies must ensure that parts are available at local dealers and that the vehicle can be delivered within 30 days or sooner. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. Offers should be emailed no later than September 5, 2025 to NassauContractingOfficers@state.gov.

To qualify for consideration, companies must meet several criteria: they must be technically qualified and financially responsible to perform the work; have an established business with a permanent address and telephone listing; be registered in SAM (System for Award Management); possess all licenses and permits required by law to operate in the Bahamas; have no adverse criminal record; have no political or business affiliation contrary to U.S. interests; accept a U.S. Embassy purchase order without mobilization or stage payments; and agree to payment in full within 30 days after completion and inspection via electronic funds transfer.

U.S.-based companies interested in operating in the Bahamas are advised to consult www.bahamas.gov.bs for information on legal requirements.
