OKX has launched its fully regulated centralized crypto exchange in France, marking a significant milestone in its European expansion. The launch was facilitated through MiCA passporting from the company's European headquarters in Malta.

Erald Ghoos, CEO of OKX Europe, said, "This isn't just another market entry, it’s another strategic step forward in our mission to build a compliant, transparent, and user-focused platform across Europe." He emphasized that France is a key market within the European Economic Area due to its strong community and growing interest in digital assets.

The new platform offers French users access to features such as spot trading with deep liquidity, staking, automated trading bots, and over 270 cryptocurrencies. Additionally, there are more than 60 crypto-Euro pairs available to facilitate smooth onboarding and daily trading.

Ghoos highlighted the importance of compliance and user protection under the MiCA framework. "We’re proud to be among the first global exchanges to meet its standards," he said. The company has begun passporting its license from Malta with plans for further expansion.

To celebrate the launch, OKX hosted an event in Cannes featuring a screening of their short film "Mild Mild West," which challenges outdated perceptions of the crypto industry. The company aims to promote regulation, transparency, and trust as essential elements for future growth.

The launch follows a year of significant progress for OKX globally, including increased active users and workforce expansion across the EEA. Recent localized launches have also occurred in Germany, Poland, and Spain.

Ghoos concluded by stating that OKX's journey in Europe is just beginning and emphasized their commitment to serving local markets with tailored products and support.
