Peace Corps Vietnam is seeking to lease a long-term housing option in Hanoi, with availability beginning August 2025. The organization outlined its requirements for suitable properties, which include townhouses or private houses located in neighborhoods such as Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Ciputra, and other similar areas within the West Lake/Hoan Kiem region.
Preference will be given to properties situated in areas with low to moderate and predictable traffic patterns. Additional considerations include proximity to green spaces or gardens and distance from sources of environmental noise such as schools, shopping malls, construction sites, industrial zones, hospitals, and emergency service stations. The Peace Corps has indicated a particular preference for homes located in the Ciputra neighborhood.
The required accommodation must house six people and offer either five bedrooms or four bedrooms with the ability to renovate for an additional fifth bedroom. The property should also have a living room, dining room, kitchen, service/laundry area, and ideally feature one bedroom and a full bathroom on the ground floor—or another floor if there is elevator access from the ground level. Additional preferences include parking space and fenced yard or outdoor space.
Properties must be in at least minimally sanitary and usable condition. Landlords should be open to security or safety enhancements that may be required by Peace Corps standards. The selection process will further consider factors such as property security, overall condition and quality of the building, ease of maintenance, room layout suitability for the organization's needs, necessary security upgrades, and willingness of landlords to accept Peace Corps’ standard lease terms.
Landlords are asked to submit details about their properties—including descriptions matching these criteria—expected availability dates, and proposed monthly rental rates via email to ksalome@peacecorps.gov by 11:59pm Hanoi time on August 24, 2025. Previous applications submitted earlier this year that still meet current requirements remain eligible for consideration.
Submissions must provide all requested information for evaluation by Peace Corps Vietnam.
