The U.S. Embassy in Gaborone, Botswana has announced a request for qualifications from architecture and engineering firms for a project at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Otse. The project involves upgrading the Leobo (Shelter) Facility to improve seating capacity, accessibility, and multipurpose use for training and events.
According to the announcement, interested firms must submit their qualifications using Standard Form 330, which can be downloaded online. Submissions are due by noon Botswana time on Friday, August 29, 2025.
The selection process will consider several criteria. These include relevant professional qualifications for similar construction projects completed in the past five years, specialized experience and technical competence in the required work, demonstrated success on similar projects with regard to quality of work and adherence to schedules and budgets, as well as personnel capacity to complete the work within the required timeframe.
"The Embassy will select for negotiation the licensed firm that demonstrates the best qualifications," according to the statement. Firms with previous or ongoing U.S. Government contracts are not required but must have performed satisfactorily if such contracts exist.
Further details indicate that only highly qualified firms will receive a detailed solicitation or tender per FAR Subpart 36.6. The embassy also notes that this request does not obligate it to make an award and reserves the right to cancel all or part of the request.
Interested parties can submit their forms via email at gaboronegsoprocurement@state.gov or contact +267-373-2356 during regular working hours for more information.
