In the latest episode of Meta’s Privacy Conversations series, Erin Egan, Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer for Public Policy at Meta, hosted a discussion with Susan Cooper, Global Data Protection Officer at Meta, and Bojana Belamy, President of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL). The conversation focused on the intersection of risk management and artificial intelligence in privacy compliance programs.

The speakers addressed how technology and AI play a role in strengthening risk management strategies. They highlighted that ongoing investments in innovation are necessary for companies to adapt to evolving global regulations and maintain trust with users.

Susan Cooper noted that Meta has invested over $8 billion into its privacy program. She explained that this investment has been fundamental in establishing a comprehensive risk management approach. Cooper also discussed the benefits of using technologies such as Privacy Aware Infrastructure to support consistency and accountability within Meta’s compliance processes.

Bojana Belamy provided her perspective on how organizations are responding to regulatory changes worldwide. She emphasized that CIPL’s Accountability Framework, along with AI tools, can assist companies in meeting their obligations under different legal regimes.
