The United States has issued a message of congratulations to the Republic of Korea on its national day. Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a statement recognizing the longstanding alliance between the two countries, which has lasted for more than 70 years.
"For over 70 years, the United States and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have forged an Alliance based on shared values and mutual interests. The United States is proud to stand with the ROK, which has flourished as a resilient democracy and valued economic partner. As indispensable Allies, we will continue working together to expand prosperity and confront the most pressing global security challenges. We look forward to collaborating with President Lee Jae Myung and his administration to advance the ironclad U.S.-ROK Alliance," Rubio said.
He added, "We join the people of the Republic of Korea in commemorating this momentous chapter in your nation’s history."
The message highlights ongoing cooperation between Washington and Seoul on economic issues and security concerns, reflecting their commitment to maintaining strong bilateral relations.
