Matthew Kirk will become the next Chief Financial Officer of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, effective March 2026. He will take over from Peter J. Vogt, who will remain with the company as a strategic advisor through the end of 2026 to help ensure a smooth transition.
Kirk is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Enstar Group Limited and has three decades of experience in insurance, finance, and accounting. He is expected to join AXIS in late 2025 in an advisory role before officially taking on the CFO position in March 2026. Kirk will report directly to Vince Tizzio, President and CEO of AXIS Capital, and will serve on the Executive Committee based in New York.

With key phases of the transformation work now complete or in progress, and having been at AXIS for 15 years, this is a natural time for a transition and I feel confident knowing that I’ll be leaving the Company in highly capable hands with Matt as our future CFO.”

Before joining Enstar Group Limited as CFO in March 2023 where he oversaw global finance functions, Kirk was Group Treasurer at Enstar responsible for treasury operations as well as capital management efforts including investor relations activities; prior roles included executive positions at Sirius International Insurance Group such as Group Treasurer along with serving as President & Managing Director of Sirius Investment Advisors; earlier he worked at Arthur Andersen focusing on assurance services plus business advisory tasks.
