Rhonda Slusher has taken on the role of Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Belmopan, Belize, as of August 2025. She is a career Foreign Service officer who most recently worked as Management Officer in Georgetown, Guyana.
Slusher joined the Department of State in 2007. Her prior roles include Policy Officer in the Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA) Office of Policy Planning and Coordination and Post Management Officer for the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. She also served as Deputy Director for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs in Panama, Supervisory General Services Officer in Azerbaijan, Post Management Officer for the Bureaus of European and Eurasian Affairs and International Organizations, and Vice Consul in Peru.
She is an Air Force veteran with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Augusta College in Augusta, Georgia. Slusher speaks Spanish. She is married to Dan Slusher, a retired Foreign Service Officer, and they have two sons, Nicholas Slusher (married to Valerie Slusher) and Troy Slusher.
