The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has issued a warning to American citizens regarding several wildfires occurring across Albania. The embassy is closely monitoring the situation and advises all U.S. citizens to be cautious, especially in areas near active fires.
A specific evacuation order has been put in place for the area surrounding the Blue Eye in Sarandë. The embassy urges U.S. citizens to avoid this location and any other affected regions, following police guidance about road closures or traffic disruptions.
The embassy also recommends that Americans in impacted zones stay informed through local news sources and keep in contact with family members, either directly or by updating their status on social media platforms.
In case of immediate danger or life-threatening emergencies, individuals should call 127 for ambulance services, 112 for police assistance, or 128 for the fire department. The National Emergency can also be reached via email at info@urgjenca.gov.al or through their website at http://urgjenca.gov.al/.
U.S. citizens requiring assistance from the embassy may call 4224-7285 if dialing from within Albania or +355-4224-7285 from outside the country. Email inquiries can be sent to ACSTirana@state.gov.
