The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil, in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) and the Association of Basic Education Workers of Piauí (ASSEBEPI), have announced the opening of applications for the Access for Teachers 2025–2026 program. This initiative targets English teachers working in Brazilian public schools, offering 320 spots for a free online training course.

Applications are open from August 8 to August 29 and can be submitted through the ASSEBEPI website or via an online form. Eligible applicants must currently teach English in Brazil's public school system and possess internet access. The program is specifically designed for educators who have basic-level English proficiency.

Scott Chiverton, RELO Director in Brazil, stated, “The Access for Teachers program strengthens the essential role of public school educators by offering practical tools and ongoing support for English teaching in Brazil. It is an honor to contribute to the development of these professionals.”

The training will run from September 30, 2025, through June 2026, totaling 120 hours. Classes will be held both synchronously on Zoom and asynchronously on Canvas. Participants will also benefit from mentor guidance, regional WhatsApp groups, and access to instructional materials.

The list of selected participants will be published starting September 5.
