Representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Office will visit Bolivia in September 2025 to provide services for U.S. Social Security beneficiaries and those with questions about their benefits, according to an announcement from the U.S. Embassy in La Paz.
The visits are scheduled for three cities. In Santa Cruz, services will be available at the U.S. Consular Agency on Avenida San Martin, Equipetrol Norte, Edificio Centro Empresarial Equipetrol – 4th Floor, on Monday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 9 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. In Cochabamba, representatives will be at the Centro Boliviano Americano on Calle 25 de Mayo N-0365 on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The final stop is in La Paz at the U.S. Embassy’s Consular Section on Av. Arce 2780 on Friday, September 12 from 8:00 am to noon.
Appointments are required for all locations and can be made by emailing FBU.Argentina@ssa.gov with “APPOINTMENT SSA – La Paz or Cochabamba or Santa Cruz” in the subject line. The email should include full name, date of birth, last four digits of Social Security Number (SSN), phone contact information and a description of the issue to discuss.
Applicants seeking Social Security benefits should bring original documents and photocopies such as birth certificates and passports; those applying for auxiliary or survivor’s benefits should also bring marriage or death certificates. Beneficiaries who receive Foreign Enforcement Questionnaires (SSA-7162), known as “proof of life” forms mailed annually in June and October to recipients with Bolivian addresses, may also seek assistance during these visits.
