Meta and Nigerian fashion brand I.N Official have announced a partnership to debut an AI-powered fashion collection at Africa Fashion Week London on August 9. The Fall/Winter 2025 collection, titled "Transcendence," aims to showcase African fashion and creativity using technology.

Meta AI was involved in the development of the collection from early design phases, including color and fabric selection as well as storytelling and visualization strategies. The collaboration demonstrates how artificial intelligence can be used by designers to plan, design, and communicate new ideas.

Balkissa Idé Siddo, Public Policy Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta, said: “We are excited to see how Meta AI is powering bold new expressions of African fashion on a global stage. This collection shows how Meta AI—available in apps people use everyday like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger—goes beyond just being a tool; it becomes part of the creative process, helping every creator dream bigger, build faster and bring new ideas to life. African creativity has always led global conversations—and with the world’s most accessible AI assistant, that momentum only grows.”

Designer Ifeanyi Nwune used Meta AI’s ‘Imagine’ feature to generate images for inspiration during the design process. For example, prompts produced visuals blending traditional African Agbada attire with Japanese Hakama style. These were used as mood boards for the collection. The search function within Meta AI also provided suggestions for accessories based on keywords.

Nwune commented: “With Meta AI, we are transcending an African future fuelled by unity, creativity, and technology.”

Meta states that its AI assistant is available across multiple platforms—including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and meta.ai—to help users learn new skills, complete tasks, create content and connect with others globally. The company says this collaboration is part of its ongoing efforts to provide accessible tools for African creatives so they can reach wider audiences.
