A strike by miners and farmers has led to significant travel disruptions in the Colombian departments of Boyacá and Cundinamarca. According to the U.S. Embassy, protesters have blocked several principal roads, preventing passage for most vehicles except police and medical services. No injuries or incidents of violence have been reported as of now.

The Embassy has identified multiple affected areas in Boyacá, including both directions of the Bogotá-Tunja highway at Ventaquemada, the cemetery roundabout in Paipa, a tertiary road in Tuta (El Salitre sector), the Gustavo Jiménez roundabout in Sogamoso, as well as Guacamayas, Monguí, Corrales and Tópaga, and San Pablo de Borbur.

In Cundinamarca, roadblocks and demonstrations have been reported on routes such as Ubaté – Simijaca, Cucunubá – Ubaté, Zipaquirá – Ubaté at Tierra Negra crossing, Villapinzón – Tunja, and Ubalá.

The Embassy advised: "Avoid travel in this area if at all possible until the transportation disruption is resolved. Monitor local media for updates. Avoid crowds and demonstrations. Be aware of your surroundings. Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests. Follow instructions by Colombian authorities."
