Beginning September 2, 2025, all applicants for nonimmigrant visas (NIV) to the United States from Zimbabwe will be required to attend an in-person interview with a consular officer. Exceptions apply only to those applying for certain diplomatic or official visa types classified under A, G, NATO, or TECRO E-1.

Additionally, starting July 7, 2025, the U.S. Department of State has revised the reciprocity schedule for Zimbabwe. This revision adjusts both the validity period and number of entries permitted for several visa categories. Most affected visa classes—including B-1/B-2, C1/D, F-1/F-2, H-series visas (H-1B/H-4), J-series visas (J-1/J-2), L-series visas (L-1/L-2), M-series visas (M-1/M-2), O-series visas (O-1/O-3), P-series visas (P-1/P-4), R-series visas (R-1/R-2), T-, U-, and V-visas—will now be issued as single-entry documents valid for three months.

Applicants who are seeking C1/D crew member or transit visas are advised to consult their employers regarding any potential impacts on current or future assignments.
