Siemens has received a Platinum rating and its highest-ever score from EcoVadis, a global provider of business sustainability ratings. The company earned 85 points in the assessment, while Siemens Mobility, which was evaluated separately, achieved a score of 84 points.
EcoVadis evaluates companies based on several criteria, including environment, ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement. The rating system is aligned with international standards such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, International Labour Organization conventions, Global Reporting Initiative standards, and ISO 26000.
According to Siemens, more than 90 percent of its business activities support customers in making positive contributions to sustainability through decarbonization and energy efficiency, resource efficiency and circularity, as well as people centricity and societal impact.
“Achieving the highest-ever score and being among the top one percent of all rated companies reinforces our position as a sustainability leader and recognizes the dedication of our people,” said Eva Riesenhuber, Global Head of Sustainability at Siemens. “Sustainability is at the core of our business, and we are continuing to scale our impact in the areas of industry, infrastructure and mobility, while empowering our customers to become more competitive, more resilient and more sustainable.”
Andreas Mehlhorn, Head of Sustainability at Siemens Mobility added: “Being awarded the EcoVadis Platinum medal once again is a strong testament to our leading position in the rail industry. It reflects our commitment to integrating sustainable solutions for our customers by maintaining rigorous sustainability standards across our operations and supply chain.”
The recognition places Siemens among the top one percent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide.
