The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi has received information about a potential threat aimed at high-end hotels in the city. As a precaution, the consulate has temporarily restricted official U.S. government personnel from visiting these hotels.

According to the consulate, “The U.S. Consulate General Karachi received a report of a threat directed at high-end hotels in Karachi. In response to such threats, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates sometimes place areas such as tourist attractions, hotels, markets, shopping malls and restaurants off-limits to official U.S. government personnel.”

The statement also noted that “The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi has temporarily limited visits by official U.S. government personnel to these hotels.”

U.S. citizens in Karachi are advised to avoid the affected areas and remain cautious in locations frequented by tourists or Westerners. The consulate recommends staying alert, avoiding crowds, keeping a low profile, and being aware of surroundings.
