A demonstration is expected to take place outside the U.S. Consulate General in São Paulo on August 1, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. The protest is being organized by a group opposed to U.S. policies and actions in the Middle East.

U.S. government personnel have been advised to avoid the entrance at Rua Henri Dunant, 500 from 9:00 AM until the event ends. Previous protests of this nature have remained peaceful, but officials caution that circumstances can change without warning.

The consulate has stated it will remain open for business during the demonstration and does not anticipate any disruption to its services. “While similar previous events have proceeded peacefully, demonstrations can change quickly and unpredictably. However, the Consulate General will remain open for business, and we do not expect any disruptions to consular services at this time,” according to information released by the consulate.

U.S. citizens in São Paulo are encouraged to avoid areas where demonstrations or large gatherings occur and use alternate routes if traveling by car. They are also advised to keep their phones charged and monitor local media for updates on the situation.

For assistance, individuals may contact the U.S. Consulate General in São Paulo by phone or email. Additional resources are available through the U.S. Department of State – Consular Affairs, as well as through official social media channels and WhatsApp alerts for U.S. citizens residing in Brazil.
