Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has been named a CDP A-List company for the fifth consecutive year and has remained in the Leadership Level for seven years, surpassing other financial institutions in Taiwan. The recognition comes as Yuanta FHC continues to pursue net-zero emissions by 2050 and aligns its strategies with international sustainability standards.
CDP is recognized as the largest global non-profit organization focused on carbon disclosure. The Taiwan Stock Exchange and Business Council for Sustainable Development Taiwan (BCSD Taiwan) have worked with CDP over the past two years to organize the “CDP Taiwan Presentation,” which acknowledges companies making progress in climate change and highlights trends in sustainability disclosures.
In line with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, Yuanta FHC has signed onto the Science Based Targets initiative’s Net-Zero pledge (SBTi Net-Zero). The company uses SBT methodology to evaluate and report on carbon emissions across its investment and financing portfolios. It also publishes reports from the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), sharing details about business risks and opportunities related to climate change.
The company reports that all eight subsidiaries of Yuanta Group now use green electricity. Solar panels have been installed on new company-owned buildings, increasing their use of renewable energy as part of their sustainability roadmap.
Yuanta Group says it integrates carbon reduction into its operations while applying Sustainable Finance Guidelines within its business practices. This includes expanding green loans, sustainability-linked loans, and offering preferential loan programs for products such as green buildings and hybrid vehicles. These initiatives are intended to promote sustainable consumer choices and support suppliers in reducing carbon footprints.
Additionally, Yuanta Bank introduced the “Diamond-Gold Carbon Lucky Account.” This product discloses the amount of carbon emissions customers save by using electronic exchanges, aiming to increase public awareness around carbon reduction.
"Yuanta FHC is committed to becoming an international benchmark enterprise for sustainability and persists in exerting our influence in sustainable finance," according to a statement from the company.
