Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to discuss cooperation on Middle East peace and security, according to a statement from Spokesperson Tammy Bruce. The meeting took place yesterday.
"The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed their shared goals of promoting peace and security in the Middle East. The Secretary thanked Foreign Minister Abdelatty for Egypt’s steadfast support in securing the release of hostages held by Hamas," said Bruce.
The two officials also addressed the situation in Sudan, focusing on the importance of moving toward civilian governance.
