Siemens Smart Infrastructure has installed smart building technology at the Berlin State Library’s ‘House Potsdamer Strasse’ in Germany. The company continues to provide services aimed at improving sustainability and energy efficiency at the site.

Since 2007, Siemens has worked with seven of Berlin’s cultural institutions to improve their sustainability. These efforts have resulted in nearly €25 million in gross energy savings and an annual reduction of about 3,745 tons of CO₂ emissions. With the recent completion of technology implementation at the eighth facility—the Berlin State Library—the partnership now totals approximately €45 million in gross energy savings and a yearly reduction of around 11,745 tons of CO₂ emissions. Siemens also provides ongoing energy monitoring and data-based advisory services for all eight buildings.
The Building X digital platform supports customers in digitalizing, managing, and optimizing building operations. This platform is part of Siemens Xcelerator, which helps customers accelerate digital transformation on a larger scale.
