Siemens has completed a technical modernization project at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, aiming to reduce the library's energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. The company implemented new technologies designed to improve energy efficiency while also enhancing the protection of cultural assets stored in the facility.

According to Siemens, these upgrades have resulted in halving the library’s overall energy use. The project is part of ongoing efforts by public institutions to address environmental concerns and preserve important historical collections.

"Siemens has technically modernized the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (Berlin State Library) to slash the facility’s energy consumption, lower its CO₂ emissions and better protect valuable cultural assets."

The modernization reflects a broader trend among European cultural institutions seeking sustainable solutions for building operations. Libraries and museums are increasingly investing in technology that reduces operational costs and minimizes their carbon footprint.
