The U.S. Embassy in Majuro has issued an advisory urging residents and visitors in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) to stay alert for ongoing updates regarding a tsunami advisory. The embassy is sharing information from relevant sources and recommends that individuals review their emergency response plans and evacuation routes.

People are advised to leave the water and beaches while the watch remains active. Those on vessels at sea should closely follow tide and sea state advisories, especially concerning moves to deeper waters.

According to current estimates, potential tsunami effects could reach Kwajalein at 5:21 p.m. and Majuro at 5:43 p.m.

The embassy encourages everyone to monitor updates through official channels, including the National Disaster Management Office’s (NDMO) Facebook page, V7AB radio, and mass text alerts via number 6366.
