U.S. Senior Advisor Massad Boulos meets Algerian leaders to discuss regional stability

The U.S. Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, visited Algeria on July 27, 2025, where he met with senior Algerian officials to discuss regional stability and economic cooperation. Deputy Assistant Secretary for North Africa Joshua Harris joined Boulos on the trip, and they were welcomed by U.S. Ambassador to Algeria, Elizabeth Moore Aubin.

Boulos held talks with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune about key challenges and opportunities facing Africa. Meetings also took place with Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf and Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab. The discussions focused on strengthening U.S.-Algerian ties in areas such as energy and commercial collaboration.

According to the press release, "Throughout his engagements, Senior Advisor Boulos emphasized the importance of U.S.-Algerian cooperation to address challenges in the Sahel and promote lasting peace and stability in the region."
