The United States is focused on enhancing global systems to detect and respond to public health threats before they become severe. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) supported 18 public health professionals from eight countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, who have completed the Public Health Emergency Management Training Program. Over a period of seven months, these fellows participated in blended learning, in-person workshops, simulations, and collaborative projects aimed at addressing urgent preparedness challenges.

Such investments aim to improve early response efforts abroad, thereby reducing risk, minimizing disruption, and contributing to a safer and more secure United States.
