Toyota Canada has announced an expanded partnership with Trans Canada Trail, reinforcing its role as the exclusive automotive partner. This initiative enhances Toyota's support for the Trail, which spans over 29,000 kilometers across every province and territory in Canada.
A new fund, the Toyota Canada Fund for Trail Sustainability, will be established to support national programs aimed at climate resilience, biodiversity, and trail stewardship throughout the country. Cyril Dimitris, President and CEO of Toyota Canada, emphasized the importance of trails in fostering connections to nature and communities. He stated, “We’re proud to establish the Toyota Canada Fund for Trail Sustainability to make lives better and communities stronger.”
Mathieu Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Trans Canada Trail, expressed gratitude towards Toyota Canada's commitment. "Toyota Canada’s continued support for Trans Canada Trail represents an inspiring commitment to a more sustainable future," he said.
This collaboration aligns with Toyota’s global Environmental Challenge 2050 strategy. The fund will focus on four main initiatives: Climate Sustainability and Nature Project; Climate Emergency Support Fund; Planting for Tomorrow Program; and Trail Care Grant Program.
The partnership aims to address immediate environmental needs while promoting long-term sustainability through various projects like tree planting and community-led trail maintenance.
