The Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG) is actively engaged in identifying promising science and technology worldwide to address the needs of the Naval Fleet and Marine Corps Forces. It also seeks high-payoff technologies for future missions. The organization collaborates with international researchers on science and technology that benefit both the U.S. and foreign parties.

ONRG employs over 50 scientists, technologists, and engineers across the globe. Its Science Directors work from five regional engagement offices to promote collaboration in basic research between the Naval Research Enterprise and international scientists. Science Advisors within Joint, Navy, and Marine Corps commands provide guidance on science and technology issues and aid in implementing technological solutions through ONR's transition programs.

The organization facilitates mature technology validation through Experimentation and Analysis, Tech Solutions, Foreign Comparative Testing, and London Tech Bridge. More information about these departments can be found on their website.

Supporting programs by ONRG include Visiting Scientist opportunities for non-U.S. scientists to share new ideas or findings in the U.S., Collaborative Science Support funding for non-U.S. workshops of naval interest, and Naval International Cooperative Opportunities which fund research addressing naval challenges.

The mission of ONRG is to discover leading-edge science, maintain global technology awareness, and foster collaborations in science and technology.

Currently, ONRG has 23 Science Directors and 25 Science Advisors who engage with over 60 countries. Their offices are located in Arlington VA (US), New Delhi (India), London (UK; HQ), Melbourne (Australia), Prague (Czech Republic), Santiago (Chile), Singapore, and Tokyo (Japan).
