Macquarie Bank has launched a new advertising campaign to promote the use of mortgage brokers in Australia. The 'Built for brokers, loved by customers' campaign aims to encourage Australians to consult with one of the country's over 22,000 mortgage brokers regarding Macquarie home loans. This initiative comes as interest rates are falling, and Macquarie sees potential benefits for first-time market entrants and those refinancing existing loans through broker services.

Ben Perham, Head of Personal Banking at Macquarie Bank, emphasized the role of brokers: “Brokers are the lifeblood of Australia’s mortgage industry, helping to drive competition and enhance choice for households as they make one of the biggest financial decisions of their life." He added that by independently comparing bank offerings, brokers can continue to play a central role in guiding Australians through the mortgage market.

Currently, 75% of all new Australian home loans are arranged by brokers. These professionals are obligated to act in their clients' best interests by finding deals that suit individual circumstances.

Macquarie Bank has become Australia's fifth-largest household lender by expanding its share of broker-generated loans. About 95% of its home loans originate from brokers. The bank is committed to investing in support and technology for both brokers and customers.

Perham stated: “Our platform has been built for brokers so they can confidently deliver better outcomes. Our strategy is focused on empowering brokers so they can deliver the best possible experiences."

Macquarie's technological investments have resulted in rapid processing times, with some applications processed within 30 minutes. Brokers benefit from real-time tracking and efficient management via Macquarie’s broker portal. The bank's assessment team provides free upfront valuations and access to serviceability calculators used by Macquarie's credit team.

As one of Australia's fastest-growing household lenders, Macquarie holds a competitive edge with low fees and flexible loan options, securing a 19% share in total home loan market growth over the past year.
