Macquarie Group has announced a donation of $US500,000 to aid relief and recovery efforts following the recent floods in Central Texas. The funds will be directed towards Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR), a volunteer first responder organization, and the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which is focused on immediate relief and long-term rebuilding after the July 4 floods.
“We are heartbroken by the catastrophic flooding that struck Central Texas and the devastating impact it’s had on the broader community,” said Tim Bourn, Head of Macquarie’s Houston office. “During this time of disaster, it’s been incredible to see the contributions from our staff in supporting organizations providing resources to impacted communities. Many of our colleagues have friends or family impacted by this tragedy. We all join in sharing our thoughts and condolences at this incredibly difficult time.”
In addition to the corporate donation, Macquarie staff have contributed over $US26,000 with matching funds from the Macquarie Group Foundation for local community organizations assisting those affected.
