The U.S. Mission Vietnam's American Spaces will focus on activities throughout 2026 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States' Declaration of Independence. These efforts aim to promote the American story in Vietnam and highlight American excellence in innovation, education, and culture.
The Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the U.S. Department of State has announced a competition for organizations to apply for grants or cooperative agreements. The goal is to showcase American excellence through interactive programming at American Spaces in Vietnam, promoting a safer and more prosperous America.
American Spaces serve as key connection points globally, fostering understanding between the United States and international communities. Managed by U.S. embassies and consulates, these spaces align with U.S. foreign policy goals and reflect core American values.
In Vietnam, these spaces are located in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, and Can Tho. Project activities must be conducted at least two locations: the American Centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City or partner institutions like the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Thai Nguyen University, and An Giang University.
Proposals should address themes such as sharing America's story and celebrating 250 years of diplomacy or showcasing American excellence in various fields including AI, space exploration, and cultural exports like film and music.
Applications for funding range from $10,000 to $35,000 per award. Interested parties can submit their applications via email by August 17, 2025.
