Dr Dominik Steinkühler has been appointed as the new Head of Group Development and Economics at KfW, effective September 1, 2025. He will take over from Dr Susanne Maurenbrecher, who will transition to the role of General Manager of KfW on October 1.
Steinkühler's responsibilities at KfW will encompass corporate strategy, sustainability, strategic planning and management, innovation, and the economics research department. Since 2022, he has been a partner at Vorwerk Ventures, where he established and managed the Climate Investment department.
His previous roles include Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Friday Insurance, executive board member for corporate clients at Commerzbank, company founder, and strategy consultant with Boston Consulting Group. Steinkühler holds a PhD in business administration from RWTH Aachen University and studied at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.
