Gregory D’Alesandro, Deputy Chief of Mission in Majuro | U.S. Embassy in Marshall Islands

Gregory D’Alesandro has been serving as the Deputy Chief of Mission at U.S. Embassy Majuro since joining the Foreign Service in 2006. Before this role, he was a Counternarcotics Senior Advisor with the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, where he led efforts to combat synthetic drug flow into the United States. His career includes roles such as Internal Politics Counselor at U.S. Embassy Beijing, Deputy Political/Economic Counselor at U.S. Embassy La Paz, Internal Politics Officer at U.S. Embassy Hanoi, Human Rights Officer at U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur, Consular Officer at U.S. Interests Section Havana, and Watch Officer at the State Department Operations Center.

Before his Foreign Service career, Greg worked as an attorney for the U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security and served as an Assistant Attorney General for Maryland. He also served in the United States Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Major. Greg holds a JD/MBA from the University of Baltimore and a BA from Franklin and Marshall College, where he was an NCAA Division I wrestler. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Greg attended McDonogh School and is married to Kristine; they have three daughters.
