Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, esteemed instructors, and graduates gathered for a ceremony marking the achievements of the English for Success Class of 2025. The event was attended by Cynthia Kierscht, U.S. Ambassador to Djibouti.
Ambassador Kierscht addressed the audience, acknowledging the graduates' hard work in improving their English skills and confidence. She emphasized that language is a crucial tool in today's interconnected world and opens up opportunities in various fields such as education and entrepreneurship.
The ambassador noted that English acts as a bridge connecting Djibouti's youth with international opportunities and fostering lasting connections between Djibouti and the United States. She expressed pride in programs like English for Success, which empowered nearly 200 learners across three cohorts in 2025.
Ambassador Kierscht extended her gratitude to partners at the Chamber of Commerce and dedicated instructors who contributed to the program's success. She highlighted that graduates leave with not only a certificate but also skills to shape their future confidently.
Quoting Eleanor Roosevelt, she encouraged graduates to dream boldly and pursue their vision for a promising future. "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams," she stated.
In closing, Ambassador Kierscht reaffirmed the United States' commitment as a partner and supporter of Djibouti's success.
