KfW and the National Paralympic Committee Germany (DBS) are set to expand their partnership, with KfW becoming the main sponsor of the German national para athletics team for 2025 and 2026. This move is aimed at promoting paralympic sports in Germany by increasing visibility, reinforcing structures, and opening new perspectives.

The collaboration aims to enable sporting successes while providing social impetus for greater recognition and participation of people with disabilities. KfW's financial support will help DBS implement central training measures and raise public awareness about the athletes.

"KfW stands for sustainable development and the promotion of diversity and equal opportunities - values that fit perfectly with our association and our athletes,” said Stefan Kiefer, Secretary General of the DBS. He added that continuing this cooperation is a significant win for para sports, improving conditions for athletes while providing important social impetus.

Stefan Wintels, Chief Executive Officer of KfW, emphasized inclusion as a priority: "Our aim is for all people, regardless of their individual characteristics and abilities, to have equal opportunities. The athletes of the Para Athletics National Team stand for exceptional performance, courage and inspiration. We are proud to be able to accompany them on their journey.”

Previously, both organizations collaborated on a nationwide campaign under the motto “Promoting inclusion – shaping the future” to highlight inclusion's importance in sport and work.
