Swansea University has reported an increase in student satisfaction, according to the latest National Student Survey (NSS) results. The survey shows that 84% of students are satisfied with their course overall, marking an 8% rise since new questions were introduced in 2023. This places Swansea second in Wales.
The NSS is conducted annually by the Office for Students and collects feedback from final-year undergraduate students across the UK. It assesses key areas of the student experience, including teaching quality, learning opportunities, assessment and feedback, academic support, and student voice.
Swansea University saw improved satisfaction scores across all seven key themes compared to 2024. Learning Resources received a rating of 90%, Academic Support 89%, Teaching 86%, and Learning Opportunities 85%. Organisation and Management as well as Assessment and Feedback both scored 81%, while Student Voice received a score of 79%.
Additionally, six subjects at Swansea achieved a perfect score for overall satisfaction this year, up from four last year. Sixteen subjects are now ranked on average in the top 25% of providers across the seven core NSS themes.
Professor Deborah Youngs, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education at Swansea University, commented: “Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re incredibly proud of Swansea’s strong performance in delivering an outstanding student experience.”
These results follow two global achievements for Swansea University: its highest-ever ranking of 292nd in the QS World University Rankings for 2026 and a global ranking of 36th in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for 2025.
