The U.S. Embassy Seoul's Public Diplomacy Section has announced a funding opportunity titled "Discover U.S." This initiative is part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States and aims to engage Korean youth through interactive, English-language programs that focus on U.S. culture, history, and values. These programs will be conducted at American Corners throughout the Republic of Korea.

The Embassy is looking for five individual grantees to implement these programs at American Corners in Busan, Gangneung, Gwangju, Jeju, and Pyeongtaek. The selected grantees will organize activities such as film screenings, discussion sessions, and workshops over a period of 10–12 months. Each grantee will work closely with the Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section and American Corner staff to conduct a minimum of 20 sessions.

Eligible applicants must be individuals based in the Republic of Korea who are either American citizens or Korean citizens with significant U.S. experience and expertise in teaching subjects related to the United States. Each grantee may receive up to $6,000 in funding.

The total amount available for this program is $30,000, with each award capped at $6,000. Applications are due by Monday, August 11, 2025.

Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the official America250 site before applying and can find detailed information on program objectives and requirements in Section C: Program Description of the full PDF NOFO document.
