Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, marking a significant advancement in its foldable smartphone series. The device is designed to merge Galaxy's design and camera functionality with AI innovation, creating what Samsung describes as their most advanced smartphone experience yet.
“Galaxy Z Fold7 combines Galaxy AI with powerful hardware to deliver our most advanced smartphone experience yet,” stated TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “This next chapter of foldables brings together design and engineering, with AI built specifically for the foldable form. It gives people the ultra experience they want — powerful, immersive, intelligent, and portable all in one.”
The Galaxy Z Fold7 boasts an ultra-thin and light design aimed at providing everyday portability akin to a traditional smartphone but with the added benefits of a larger unfolded display. This new model offers an 11% larger main screen than its predecessor, enhancing capabilities for multitasking and immersive viewing.
Underneath its sleek exterior lies a processor customized for on-device AI tasks like real-time language translation. The phone also features an upgraded camera system that utilizes AI-enhanced imaging for improved photo quality in various lighting conditions.
In terms of security, Samsung is introducing enhanced privacy features through One UI 8's Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP21). This initiative aims to protect on-device AI operations by expanding cross-device threat detection and implementing quantum-resistant encryption for network security.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold7 begin on July 9, with general availability starting July 25. The phone will be available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack, and Mint color options.
