Samsung unveils Galaxy Watch8 series focused on comfort and health tracking

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, expanding its lineup of smartwatches. The new series features a thinner design and aims to enhance user comfort while offering continuous health tracking. "We are committed to empowering billions of people to live healthier lives through our innovative technology," stated TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics.

The Galaxy Watch8 series introduces several advancements, including a brighter display, enhanced battery life, and improved GPS capabilities. It also incorporates Samsung's BioActive Sensor for more accurate health insights. New features include sleep coaching and an Antioxidant Index that measures carotenoid levels.

The watches come equipped with Google's AI assistant Gemini and run on Wear OS 6. The user interface is optimized for the watch face, providing easy access to health metrics and other information.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch8 series begin today in select markets, with general availability starting July 25. Available sizes include 44mm or 40mm in Graphite or Silver for the standard model, while the Classic model comes in Black or White with a rotating bezel.

For those interested in outdoor activities, the Galaxy Watch Ultra offers durability with four titanium finishes. Additionally, Samsung introduces the Galaxy Ring for discreet health tracking.
