Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), along with Toyota Financial Services (TFS), Gulf States Toyota (GST), Southeast Toyota (SET), Vic Vaughan Toyota of Boerne, and nationwide Toyota and Lexus dealers, has pledged over $600,000 to aid those affected by recent flash floods in Kerr County and the Texas Hill Country. The relief efforts include contributions to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, alongside matching donations, in-kind contributions, and volunteer support.
Ted Ogawa, CEO of TMNA, emphasized the importance of community support during such disasters: “When disasters like this occur, it’s important to help our neighbors and communities in their time of need.” He expressed gratitude towards first responders and volunteers for their efforts.
Gulf States Toyota's Chairman and CEO Dan Friedkin highlighted the commitment to supporting local communities: “We are deeply saddened by the immeasurable loss caused by the devastation from this disaster. Every person and family impacted remain in our prayers.”
Vic Vaughan Toyota of Boerne is actively participating in recovery initiatives through The Vic Vaughan Family Foundation. Various strategies are being employed to maximize outreach to those impacted by the flooding.
The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country will allocate funds to vetted organizations engaged in rescue, relief, and recovery operations. TFS/LFS is offering payment relief options for affected customers within designated disaster areas. TMNA will match contributions from eligible dealers up to $10,000. Additionally, team member contributions across the U.S. will be doubled by Toyota.
Toyota Texas employees at the San Antonio plant are gathering clothing and essential supplies for ongoing relief efforts. GST employees have a similar contribution match program as part of these initiatives.
Toyota maintains sustainable development commitments with organizations like the American Red Cross and St. Bernard Project (SBP) that provide resources for disaster response nationwide.
