A shipment of U.S.-manufactured security equipment, including explosive trace detectors and body scanners with advanced imaging technology, was officially delivered to the Togo National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) on June 30. The delivery was made by U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Richard C. Michaels.
The equipment is intended to enhance the security measures at Lomé’s Gnassingbe Eyadema International Airport, benefiting American, Togolese, and other international travelers. "This collaboration showcases the strong commitment the United States and Togo share to security and economic prosperity," stated Chargé d’Affaires Michaels.
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) representative Lori Silcox joined Michaels along with key Togolese officials for the delivery event. It was noted that TSA will oversee the installation of the equipment and provide training for local staff, contributing to long-term safety improvements in both countries.
