Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has been recognized by the Taipei City Government for its commitment to green procurement, marking a significant achievement in environmental sustainability. On May 7, Yuanta FHC received the 2024 Outstanding Private Enterprise in Green Procurement award from the Department of Environmental Protection of Taipei City Government. This recognition highlights the company's consistent performance over fourteen years.
The award ceremony aimed to honor private entities implementing green procurement and promoting green consumption. The criteria included achieving NT$5 million or more in green procurement or obtaining environmental certifications.
Yuanta FHC is part of the Coalition of Movers and Shakers on Sustainable Finance, established in 2022 with five other financial holding companies in Taiwan. The coalition works towards net-zero emissions and emphasizes sustainability actions like "green procurement" and "assistance and promotion." This year, Yuanta engaged small and medium-sized suppliers to help them calculate carbon emissions and improve their green practices.
Since 2020, Yuanta subsidiaries have followed ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement Guidance, refining their sustainable procurement procedures annually. They also perform supplier assessments based on human rights, labor practices, ethical management, environment, health and safety.
In alignment with UN's Sustainable Development Goal 12 on Responsible Consumption and Production, Yuanta supports customers through sustainability-linked loan agreements to incorporate circular economy principles into product design. The company aims to foster a sustainable financial ecosystem by collaborating with employees, customers, and suppliers.
