The U.S. Embassy in Honduras has issued an update regarding vaccination requirements for travelers, clarifying that there is no need for proof of measles and rubella vaccination for those arriving in Honduras. However, a new requirement affects Honduran minors aged 12 months to 10 years traveling from Honduras to certain countries, including the United States.

Starting July 7, 2025, these minors must provide evidence of vaccination against measles and rubella upon departure from Honduras. This requirement will impact dual national citizens of both Honduras and the United States.

The Ministry of Health will keep updating the list of affected countries based on information from the World Health Organization.

Travelers are advised to check their vaccine history against specific country requirements, ensure travel documents are current and accessible, carry proper identification at all times, visit the CDC Travelers Health Page, monitor local media for updates, and follow updates on U.S. Embassy social media channels.

For assistance or more information, travelers can contact the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa or the State Department's Consular Affairs. It is also recommended that U.S. citizens enroll in STEP to receive security updates.
