A change is occurring among the shareholder representatives on the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. Marianne Heiß has stepped down from her position, effective July 4, 2025. Susanne Wiegand will succeed her, starting July 5, 2025. This announcement was made by the company in Wolfsburg.
Marianne Heiß had been a member of the Supervisory Board since February 14, 2018, and also served on its Audit Committee. Hans Dieter Pötsch, Chairman of the Volkswagen Supervisory Board, expressed gratitude for Ms. Heiß's "many years of very good, loyal cooperation." He acknowledged that Ms. Heiß had "enriched the work of the Supervisory Board with her extensive expertise" in corporate management and strategy, brand work, finance and accounting. Her experience in environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters was also highlighted as valuable.
Susanne Wiegand brings over two decades of experience from leadership roles in international listed and family-owned companies within defense, engineering and shipbuilding industries. She possesses significant expertise in growth strategies, IPOs, transformation and industrial markets along with risk management, compliance and export control. Ms. Wiegand is set to chair the Audit Committee of the Supervisory Board.
