Panama, July 3, 2025 – The U.S. Embassy in Panama City celebrated the 249th anniversary of American independence with an event at Club Union. The gathering was attended by leaders from various sectors including local government, civil society, and the Diplomatic Corps, along with guests from the United States.

U.S. Ambassador Kevin Marino Cabrera highlighted the current administration's achievements: “President Trump is ushering in a new Golden Age for the United States, an unprecedented era of opportunity and strength.” He also quoted President Trump: “As President Trump has said, ‘the story of America makes everyone free,’” emphasizing the commitment to promote prosperity and security.

Ambassador Cabrera spoke on the relationship between the United States and Panama: “The United States and Panama have built a strong partnership that strengthens our countries and the entire hemisphere. Under President Trump’s leadership, we seek to expand our cooperation, which will make both countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”

From Panama's side, Minister of the Presidency Juan Carlos Orillac acknowledged the close bilateral ties between the two nations. Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi also remarked on these enduring connections.

The ceremony featured performances of national anthems by Technical Sergeant Mitchell Chadler from Missouri Air National Guard for the U.S., and Panamanian soprano Elisa Troetsch for Panama.

Culinary offerings included dishes from Miami’s “Esquinita de la Calle Ocho,” Southern cuisine at “Bayu Bites,” and Taiwanese food at “Taste of Taipei.” Entertainment was provided by Feeling Live Music band followed by a fireworks display.
