Volkswagen Group Charging GmbH, known as Elli, is enhancing its position in the European electric vehicle charging market. Customers can now access approximately 900,000 public charging points across 28 countries using various tools such as the Elli app and cards. This network includes 80,000 high-power charging stations.
The expansion coincides with a new pricing model aimed at making electric vehicle charging more convenient and cost-effective across Europe. "Our Elli charging network is seamless and reliable – a key enabler of borderless electric mobility," said Joschi Jennermann, CEO of Elli Mobility. He highlighted features like international roaming and Plug&Charge as part of this model.
Rainer Zietlow, known for his Guinness World Record achievements, is partnering with Elli and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles for a global journey in an ID. Buzz Pro. His goal is to visit over 75 countries on six continents in about a year. The European leg will include Austria, Italy, France, Turkey, among others.
"In 2020, we kicked off a record-breaking tour through Germany with the ID.3," said Zietlow. "Since then, Elli’s charging network has tripled in size."
Details of the journey will be available on https://idbuzz-worldtour.com and documented by Elli on LinkedIn.
