Honduran authorities are now requiring travelers from various countries, including the United States, to present documentation proving they have received a measles vaccine. This applies to all foreign travelers entering Honduras by land, sea, or air. In cases where individuals cannot receive the vaccine, they must provide proof of a negative measles test taken 72 to 80 hours before their flight.

Travelers are advised to keep their travel documents current and accessible and carry proper identification at all times. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Travelers Health Page is recommended for further guidance. Monitoring local media and U.S. Embassy social media pages for updates is also suggested.

U.S. citizens traveling abroad should always have an emergency contingency plan in place, as outlined in the Traveler’s Checklist.
