The U.S. Embassy has announced an online e-auction to sell excess government property. The auction started on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., and concluded on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 9:00 p.m.

The items available for sale included used household appliances, furniture, and miscellaneous equipment. Interested participants were directed to visit https://online-auction.state.gov/ to view the auction lots specific to Chisinau, MD. The website provided item photos and descriptions along with instructions on how to create an auction account and participate in the auction.

According to the announcement, "Winning bidders will be automatically notified via email when the auction closes." Payment instructions were also provided in these emails.

Items purchased could be collected from the U.S. Embassy Warehouse located at 21/3 Petricani St., “UNIVERSCOM” Warehouse #1. Collection times were scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or Wednesday, June 4, during the same hours.

It was specified that proof of payment had to be presented at pick-up time. Bidders were required to pay for and collect their items by the dates mentioned in their "Winning Bidder" email; failure to do so might result in losing eligibility for future auctions.

The announcement further noted that all purchasers needed to arrange their own transportation and labor for moving items since "The U.S. Embassy will not deliver, load, or assist in moving any purchased items."

All items were sold as-is with no refunds offered.
