The USNS Comfort is set to visit Colón, Panama from June 26 to July 1 as part of the Continuing Promise 2025 mission. The Embassy of the United States announced this extension due to popular demand and a warm welcome from the Government of Panama.

Continuing Promise 2025 aims to strengthen ties between the United States and Panama by offering free medical services and initiating community projects in Colón and Veracruz. "The Comfort and its crew are fully committed to helping the people of Panama," stated the embassy.

Originally planned clinics at the Figali Convention Center in Panama City have been relocated to Colón. Medical teams will serve 300–400 patients daily on a first-come, first-served basis at Policentro Juan Antonio Núñez in Colón from June 26-30, and at MINSA Clinic in Veracruz on June 30.

Services available include adult medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, psychiatry, cardiology, dermatology, pediatric oncology, optometry/ophthalmology, dental care, pharmacy services, laboratory services, radiology (X-rays), preventive medicine, nutrition consultations, and veterinary services for pets.

Veterinary clinics for dogs and cats will be held at Club del Servicio de Protección Institucional in Veracruz from June 28–30 and at Hatillo Planta Baja from June 26–27.

Community projects include renovating Escuela Estados Unidos de América in Casco Viejo and repairing biomedical equipment at Santo Tomás Hospital, Hospital del Niño, and MINSA clinic in Veracruz. Search and rescue training with SINAPROC is scheduled for June 25–27. Other activities include a beach cleanup on June 28 in Veracruz; a health education fair on June 30 at Veracruz Public School; and a sports day with SENAN and local students also on June 30.

"The United States deeply values its partnership with Panama," affirmed the embassy. "Our commitment remains stronger than ever."
